ABOUT THE ATHLETE

Since my childhood, I have always aspired to surpass myself in a field that would make ONE with my colorful personality. Achieving personal goals has always been part of me. I searched through the world of communications to finally dive into the world of fitness at the age of 20. My career in the fitness industry began almost 10 years ago with my mentor at the time who shared with me his passion for training. That was the beginning of my career as a competitor.

I quickly realized that I was inspiring people around me. Which led me to dig further via various courses offered by Vincent Comtois, Charles Poliquin and Coach Export, in order to transmit my knowledge. I also discovered the ATP supplements and that made ALL the difference on my physical results and my everyday state of mind.

One week before a competition, in 2016, I got pregnant. My son Ethan was on his way. I had a dream pregnancy with an excellent protocol of ATP supplements before, during and after giving birth. Naturally, my goal was to compete again following my delivery. I achieved that goal in 2018 for one last time.

Throughout my career, I never had an official coach. I was persuaded to be able to get there alone, as if I had to prove to myself that I could do it. For me, the discipline was a competition against myself and the feeling of satisfaction was even greater at that moment.

I had everything to gain from this great adventure, I have lived moments engraved in my heart forever and I have met people who have entered my life to stay. What more can I get from it? I found my balance through a perfect lifestyle.

That being said, I definitely hung my bikinis. I took the path of wisdom... Now, I much prefer the feeling of moderation!

WHAT IS THE ONE WORD THAT DESCRIBES YOU BEST?
Katherine: Passionate

What would you say is the key to success as a fitness model or athlete?
Katherine: Find your own balance through diversity! There is not a day where I do the same training. I have a more effective physical response than before when I was on the same program for 4 to 6 weeks. IDEM for nutrition, I cook healthy dishes, but a little richer and tasty for about 5 meals a week, whether it's a good breakfast, lunch or dinner, I choose my moments.

We must also set goals throughout the year, to remember why we do it and stay motivated. As I do not compete anymore, I want to inspire otherwise. So, I chose photography to channel this freedom of expression.

If you could choose another career or sport what would it be?
Katherine: Fashion designer

What or who made you want to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle?
Katherine: It all started when I read an Inside Fitness magazine for the first time! All the articles appealed to me, from the nutrition section to the testimonials section. That whole lifestyle fascinated me and seemed easy to reach. I dreamed of it and quickly, a great self confidence settled in. I took action by using all the tools necessary to achieve my goals. DREAM, BELIEVE, ACHIEVE.

What is your position on the use of illegal or uncontrolled drugs in certain sports such as the fitness world?
Katherine: In the men category, I do not know anyone who never used these substances, I imagine that this is part of the results sought by the industry, including the so-called "natural" federations.

Over the years, I have been surprised to learn that more and more women in various categories, including "Bikini", have used these substances too. Did they disappoint me or less inspired me in the end? Not really! Does it hurt their health? Absolutely! So, it’s up to everyone to develop their own vision of a healthy mind in a healthy body.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Katherine: My desire to be perfect in every aspect of my life is a little too intense. It's demanding and I get on my own nerves sometimes. I am working on it and I am slowly learning to let go...!

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SPORTS HERO?

Katherine: I'm not really into sports on TV. I follow a lot of "Fitness Models" on social networks though. I have a big crush on Anita Hebert!

UP AND AT IT – WHAT IS YOUR MORNING ROUTINE?

Katherine: GYM from 10 to 11:30 from Monday to Friday!

What is your favorite song to listen to while training?

Katherine: I have quite diverse tastes, Hip Hop, Chillout, Deep house, Alternative Rock… Lately, I need rhythm in my life! So, I listen to the DIPLO channel on Sirius XM.

IF YOU HAD SUPER POWERS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE AND WHAT WOULD YOUR SUPERHERO NAME BE?

Katherine: WOMANITY: My power would be to transfer to women all the inner and outer well-being they deserve.

WHAT IS YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE OR FAVORITE CHEAT MEAL?

Katherine: Pizza with extra pepperoni 4x lol

Did you ever have a health epiphany which made you change your lifestyle?

Katherine: I had a good education from my mother's side regarding nutrition and natural supplements. Subsequently, it stuck with me and I always maintained a healthy and balanced lifestyle. For sure the acquisition of knowledge over the years allowed me to be at the best of myself physically and mentally during my competitions. I would say that the click I've had in the last year was to be less restrictive on myself and reorganize my priorities. The arrival of my son opened my eyes to look for who I was before the competitions. An epicurean, in love with nature and the outdoor, looking for discoveries! When I say that moderation tastes better, that’s what I mean.

Are you a calorie counter?

Katherine: No, but I count my macronutrients.

Do you believe that women are well represented in the sports and fitness industries?

Katherine: WOW Absolutely! There are so many women, all equally inspiring, who take advantage of this new trend to build a great career and help thousands of other women to break into the field. I call them EMPOWERING WOMEN. It's huge the positive impact the "Fitness Trend" has been able to bring to this world. As I have always said, when you feel fulfilled in your life, whether physically or otherwise, EVERYTHING can only go well!

Which values ​​have you acquired over the years through training would you like to pass on to your son?

Katherine: Physical health is important, but mental health too! So, I will try to guide him toward what he likes. I would especially like to pass on that self-confidence that will allow him to succeed in all spheres of his life.

WHY ATP LAB?

Katherine: I could get the brand logo tattooed on my body, LOL! It gives you an idea of my dedication to this company. From the first day I integrated ATP’s supplements into my routine, I saw a drastic improvement in my gym performances, my energy level, my mood and my sleep! It was a revelation! Katherine: You must get out of your comfort zone, try new things, whether you're out in the woods, in a gym, in a dance class or a hot yoga session. Explore and find what makes you tick!

In my opinion, the motivation to eat healthy comes with physical activity. It's the same principle for food: innovate while cooking! Learn how to cook healthy dishes that will please your taste buds.

Loving what we do in life is the key to success!
